PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DENGAN PENDEKATAN SCIENTIFIC BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA DALAM UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI DAN AKTIVITAS BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan Scientific berbantuan Geogebra yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berupa buku siswa dan buku petunjuk guru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah design research yang dilakukan melalui tahap preliminary research, prototyping stage, dan assessment phase. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Denpasar sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan perangkat pembelajaran, angket respons siswa, angket respons guru, lembar observasi aktivitas belajar matematika, lembar observasi keterampilan komunikasi matematika, dan tes tulis uraian. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya diolah dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang dikembangkan berada pada kategori sangat valid. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba yang dilakukan, diperoleh bahwa perangkat pembelajaran telah memenuhi aspek kepraktisan. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari: 1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada uji coba terbatas tergolong praktis serta keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada uji coba lapangan I dan II tergolong sangat praktis; 2) penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari respons siswa tergolong praktis; 3) respons guru terhadap penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berada pada kategori sangat praktis. Perangkat pembelajaran ini juga telah memenuhi aspek keefektifan yang dilihat dari: 1) keterampilan komunikasi matematika lisan siswa pada uji coba lapangan I dan II berada pada kategori baik; 2) keterampilan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa yang telah melampaui KKM; 3) aktivitas belajar matematika siswa pada uji coba lapangan I dan II tergolong aktif. Selain hal tersebut, buku siswa yang dihasilkan memiliki karakteristik: 1) memberikan siswa pengalaman belajar menggunakan GeoGebra; 2) mengarahkan siswa untuk berpikir kreatif; 3) penyajian materi di awali dengan fenomena dan masalah real disekitar siswa; serta 4) memberikan siswa kesempatan untuk memikirkan berbagai alternatif solusi dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan. Sedangkan buku petunjuk guru memiliki karakteristik: 1) praktis dalam penggunaan dan 2) menggunakan bahasa yang jelas, logis, dan sistematis. Karakteristik pembelajaran dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang dikembangkan antara lain: 1) pembelajaran diawali dengan mengenalkan siswa fenomena dan masalah real yang berkaitan dengan materi yang dipelajari; 2) memberikan kebebasan berpendapat dan berdiskusi; 3) membangkitkan interaksi sosial dan rasa percaya diri siswa; serta 4) penggunaan bahasa daerah sesekali waktu dalam pembelajaran.

This study was aimed at developing mathematics instructional materials with scientific approach assisted by GeoGebra which were valid, practical, and effective. The instructional materials which were developed in this study consisted of student’s book and teacher’s guide book. This study was a design research implemented by preliminary research phase, prototyping stage phase, and assessment phase. The subjects of this research were the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Denpasar. Data were collected by using observation sheet of instructional materials implementation, student’s response questionnaire, teacher’s response questionnaire, observation sheet of mathematics learning activities, observation sheet of mathematical communication skills, and written essay test. The collected data were processed and analyzed descriptively. The result of this research showed that the developed mathematics instructional materials are categorized “very high” in validity. Based on the results of try out which were conducted, it was obtained that the instructional materials had fulfilled the practicality aspect. It could be seen from: 1) the instructional implementation on limited try out belonged to practical and instructional implementation on the first and the second field try out belonged to very practical; 2) the use of developed mathematics instructional materials which were observed from students' responses belonged to practical; 3) teacher's response towarded the use of mathematics instructional materials belonged to very practical in category. The instructional materials had fulfilled the effectiveness aspects which were seen from: 1) the verbal mathematics communication skills of students on the first and the second field try out were good in category; 2) the written mathematics communication skill of students had exceeded the standard minimal score; 3) the mathematics learning activities of students on the first and the second field try out were classified as active. Beside, the characteristics of the produced student’s book were: 1) giving the students the learning experience in using GeoGebra; 2) directing students to think creatively; 3) the presented learning topics were begun with the phenomena and real problems; and 4) giving opportunities for students to think about alternative solutions in solving problems. While, the characteristics of the teacher’s guide book were: 1) practical use; and 2) using clear, logic, and systematic language. The characteristics of the learning using the developed mathematics instructional materials were: 1) the learning began by introducing students real phenomena and problem related to the material; 2) giving the students a freedom in giving opinions and discussions; 3) generating social interaction and self-confidence of students, as well as 4) occasionally, using vernacular in learning process.
