Pengaruh Strategi Genius Learning dengan Pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking Terhadap Kemampuan Representasi Matematis Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMP N 2 Singaraja
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengaruh strategi genius learning dengan pendekatan metaphorical thinking terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja sebanyak 555 siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian semu dengan desain penelitian menggunakan factorial design dengan desain treatment by level yang melibatkan sampel sebanyak 48 orang. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling. Dalam penelitian ini data yang diperlukan adalah data tentang kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan representasi matematis. Data tentang kemampuan berpikir kritis diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan data kemampuan representasi matematis diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan untuk pengujian hipotesis digunakan analisis varians (ANAVA) dua jalur melalui uji F.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) kemampuan representasi matematis antara siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan strategi genius learning berpendakatan metaphorical thinking lebih baik dari siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. F_(A Hit)=13,82, sedangkan F_Tab=4,06, dan rata-rata skor kemampuan representasi matematis pada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan strategi genius learning berpendekatan metaphorical thinking lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional (X ̅_A1=72,50>X ̅_A1=56,88); (2) tidak terdapat interaksi antara strategi genius learning berpendekatan metaphorical thinking dan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis (F_(AB Hit)=3,36Kata Kunci : genius learning, metaphorical thinking, representasi matematis, berpikir kritis
This research aimed to describe the affect of genius learning strategy with metaphorical thinking approach to mathematical representation ability which viewed from critical thinking ability of students in class VIII in SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja in the year of 2015/2016. The research population is whole VIII class students of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja which are about 555 students. This research was quasi experimental with design research used factorial design with design treatment by level and involved a sample of 48 students. Selection of classes conducted by random sampling technique. In this research the data which are needed is the data of critical thinking ability and mathematical representation ability. The data of critical thinking ability is obtained through ability of critical thinking test and data of mathematical representation ability is obtained through ability of mathematical representation test. The data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and to testify the hyphoteses the researcher had used two lines varians analysis (ANAVA) with F-test.
The research’s result had been shown that: (1) mathematical representation ability to the students that their learning was using genius learning strategy with metaphorical thinking approach was higher than the students that was using conventional learning F_(A Hit)=13,82, while F_Tab=4,06, and the average value of the mathematical representation ability for the students that was using the genius learning strategy with metaphorical thinking approach was higher than the students that was using conventional learning (X ̅_A1=72,50>X ̅_A1=56,88); (2) there is no interaction between genius learning strategy with metaphorical thinking approach and critical thinking ability to mathematical representation ability (F_(AB Hit)=3,36keyword : genius learning, metaphorical thinking, mathematical representation, critical thinking
