Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1)  relevansi antara Materi Ajar pada Mata Pelajaran Biologi kelas X yang diuraikan guru dengan Kompetensi Dasar (KD) yang telah ditetapkan dalam Standar Isi   di SMA Negeri  yang ada di Kabupaten Badung, dan (2) relevansi antara Kompetensi Dasar terhadap Penyusunan  Indikator  pada Mata Pelajaran Biologi kelas X  di  SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Badung.

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada delapan  SMA Negeri di kabupaten  Badung dengan teknik sampling yang digunakan cluster area sampling, yaitu  pengambilan sampel dengan sistem area yang meliputi wilayah pinggiran kota, pedesaan  dan perkotaan dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 16 orang dari guru SMA kelas X. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Ex post-facto dan digolongkan sebagai studi evaluatif dan analisis metode campuran (mix method), sehingga  pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan deskriptif,  kuantitatif, dan kualitatif.

Perolehan dari hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat relevansi antara kompetensi dasar yang ditentukan terpusat dari BSNP dengan pembuatan materi ajar pada mata pelajaran Biologi SMA  kelas X sebesar 45,794. Hal ini berarti bahwa dalam pembuatan materi ajar pendidik telah memperhatikan beberapa hal, yaitu: (a) potensi peserta didik; (b)  karakteristik daerah; (c) perkembangan fisik, intelektual, emosional, sosial, dan spritual dari peserta didik; (d) kebermanfaatan  bagi peseta didik; (e) struktur keilmuan; (f) aktualitas, kedalaman, dan keluasan materi pembelajaran;  (g)  relevansi dengan tuntutan dan kebutuhan lingkungan; dan (h) alokasi waktu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis relevansi antara kompetensi dasar dengan pembuatan indikator pencapaian pada masing-masing kompetensi dasar bahwa terdapat relevansi antara kompetensi dasar dengan pembuatan indikator pencapaian, artinya dalam pembuatan indikator pencapaian pendidik telah berpedoman pada : a) setiap KD yang dikembangkan sekurang-kurangnya menjadi tiga indikator; b) keseluruhan indikator memenuhi tuntutan kompetensi yang tertuang dalam kata kerja yang digunakan dalam SK dan KD.; c) indikator sebaiknya dapat mengakomodir karakteristik mata pelajaran; d) indikator yang dikembangkan sebaiknya menggambarkan hirarki kompetensi; e) rumusan indikator sekurang-kurangnya mencakup aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik.

The study had been conducted in order to figure out: (1) the relevance of the instructional material of biology developed by the teachers and the basic competencies stated at the content standard of the curriculum at SMA Class X around Badung regency, and (2) the relevance of the basic competencies with the achievement indicators of Biology subject at SMA Negeri class X around Badung regency.

The study was carried out at the eight SMAs Negeri around Badung regency  by using cluster area sampling, that was the samples determination was made based on the scope of cities boundaries, villages, and urban areas involving a total number of 16 teaching staff members at SMAs  Class X. It utilized an ex-post facto design and was classified into an evaluative type of study and mixed methods, so that it employed a descriptive, quantitative, and qualitative approaches.

The findings of the study indicated that the basic competencies mentioned by the Educational National Standard Bureau were found relevant with the instructional material of Biology subject at SMA class X with the score of 45.794. It meant that the instructional material was developed according to the following criteria, like (a) the students’ potentials; (b) local areas’ characters; (c) physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual development of the students; (d) the benefit for the students; (e) branch of sciences; (f) up-to-date, depth, and the scope of the material; (g) relevant to the environmental needs; and (h) the time allocation. The results of analysis indicated that the basic competencies were found relevant to the development of achievement indicators, which meant that the indicators were developed according to the criteria, like: a) every basic competency was developed at least into three different indicators; b) the whole indicators had met the requirement of competencies using operational verbs forms indicated in the standard and basic competencies; c) all indicators should accommodate the characteristics of the subject matter; d) all the indicators should be developed based on the competency hierarchy; e) the formulation of the indicators should involve the following aspects, like cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.
