FAKTOR-FAKTOR PENENTU KEUNGGULAN KOMPETITIF SMA SWASTA DALAM MENARIK PEMINAT (Studi pada SMA Katolik Santo Yoseph Denpasar)

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan SMA Swasta (dalam hal ini SMAK Santo Yoseph Denpasar) tetap unggul dalam persaingan untuk mendapatkan siswa yang banyak dan berkualitas secara berkesinambungan. Sumber data ditentukan secara purposive dan snowball yang mana untuk memeperoleh data dilakukan wawancara mendalam dengan para informan. Pengolahan data menggunakan analisis data kualitatif model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan.
Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan, faktor-faktor penentu keunggulan kompetitif SMAK Santo Yoseph Denpasar dalam menarik peminat adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, diterapkannya kepemimpinan demokratis yang spiritual dan visioner yang diwariskan sebagai budaya organisasi. Kedua, diterapkannya manajemen berbasis sekolah dan manajemen mutu pendidikan yang menekankan pada proses Ketiga, diterapkannya sistem remunerasi dan reward dengan mengacu pada pola penggajian pegawai negeri sipil. Keempat, terbangunnya citra positif sekolah di mata para peminat.

THE DETERMINANTS OF THE COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE OF PRIVATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN ATTRACTING STUDENTS
TO STUDY THERE
(A Study Conducted at SMA Katolik Santo Yoseph Denpasar)

ABSTRACT
This study aimed at finding out and describing the factors that caused private senior high schools (in this case SMAK Santo Yoseph Denpasar) to remain highly competitive in the competition to get a large quantity of students and to continually. Source of the data were determined by purposive and snowball sampling. The data were collected through an in-depth interview to the informants guided with an interview guide. The data processing was done by using Miles and Huberman’s model of qualitative data analysis that consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.
From the result it was found that the determinants of the competitive advantage of SMAK Santo Yoseph Denpasar in attracting students were as follows. First, the application of spiritual democratic and visionary leadership through mutual trust and exemplary conduct transmitted as organizational culture. Second, the application of school based management, and the application of process oriented education quality management. Third, the application of the remuneration system and reward that referred to the civil servant salary pattern. Fourth, the development of positive school image in the eyes of the students .
