POTRET PENGELOLAAN PEMBELAJARAN IPA: STUDI KASUS DI DAERAH TERDEPAN, TERLUAR, DAN TERTINGGAL
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengelolaan pembelajaran IPA pada salah satu sekolah SMP di Nusa Tenggara Timur yang tergolong 3T. Penelitian ini tergolong penelitian kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus. Informan yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah guru IPA, siswa, dan kepala sekolah. Fokus penelitian ini adalah 1) pengelolaan pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri “Z”, 2) hambatan pengelolaan pembelajaran IPA, dan 3) upaya mengatasi hambatan pengelolaan pembelajaran IPA. Data dikumpulkan dengan melakukan studi dokumen, observasi, catatan lapangan, dan wawancara serta dianalisis secara interpretatif dengan teknik triangulasi sumber informasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri “Z” belum berjalan optimal. Guru IPA menggunakan silabus yang berasal dari dinas pendidikan setempat; Penyusunan RPP dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA belum sesuai dengan Standar Proses Permendiknas RI No. 41 Tahun 2007; dan Penilaian pembelajaran IPA hanya berorientasi pada hasil. Hambatan pengelolaan pembelajaran IPA, yaitu: pemahaman guru tentang standar proses kurang, layanan peningkatan profesionalisme guru kurang, guru kurang mendapat bimbingan dan pelatihan untuk mempersiapkan perangkat pembelajaran, iklim kerja sekolah yang kurang kondusif, fasilitas pembelajaran kurang memadai, karakteristik siswa beragam, kemampuan siswa berbahasa Indonesia rendah, dan motivasi siswa serta orang tua rendah. Upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran IPA adalah melakukan diskusi tentang pembelajaran IPA dengan guru lainnya yang juga memiliki kompetensi belum memadai, memilih metode pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa, membuat media pembelajaran sederhana dan memotivasi siswa.

This study aimed to describe the management of science teaching learning process of junior high school in remote area of Indonesia called as “3T” area. This study was a qualitative research in the form of case study. Informants involved were science teachers, students, and school principals. The focus of this study were: 1) the management of science teaching learning process in junior high school “Z”, 2) the obstacle management of science teaching learning process, and 3) the effort to overcome the obstacle in the management of science teaching learning process. Data were collected by studying documents, observation, field note, and interviews. The data was analyzed by interpretive analysis utilizing triangulation technique of data resources. The research result revealed that the management of science teaching learning process in junior high school “Z” has not run optimally−science teacher used a syllabus derived from the local education board, lesson plan preparation and implementation were not in accordance with the standards process of Permendiknas RI No. 41 Tahun 2007, and the assesment of student achievement was results-oriented only. The obstacle management of science teaching learning process were inadequate teachers understanding of process standard, inadequate of increasing teacher’s profesionalism, teachers receiving less guidance and training to prepare lessons, bad working climate of school, inadequate learning facilities, a diverse student, low ability of students to use bahasa Indonesia, and low motivation of students and parents.The effort done by teachers to overcome the obstacle in the management of science teaching learning process were making a discussion of science teaching learning process with other teachers who also had inadequate competence, selecting appropriate teaching methods with student characteristics, making simple learning media and motivating students.
