Konstruksi Feminisme pada Novel Putri Karya Putu Wijaya (Analisis Wacana Kritis Sara Mills)

Abstract

Penelitian yang menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konstruksi feminisme dan representasi posisi subjek-objek serta posisi pembaca yang ditampilkan dalam novel Putri karya Putu Wijaya berdasarkan analisis wacana kritis Sara Mills. Subjek penelitian ini adalah novel Putri sedangkan objek penelitian ini konstruksi feminisme dan representasi posisi subjek-objek serta posisi pembaca yang ditampilkan dalam novel Putri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dokumentasi dan instrumen utama adalah check list. Melalui analisis konstruksi feminisme secara kritis terhadap novel Putri, diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut. Pertama, bentuk konstruksi feminisme yang muncul yaitu: (1) marginalisasi direpresentasikan dalam bentuk pemiskinan perempuan dengan cara pelarangan untuk menempuh pendidikan dan bekerja; (2) subordinasi direpresentasikan dalam bentuk kaum lelaki bebas untuk menentukan dan memilih apa yang diinginkan; (3) stereotipe mengindikasikan bahwa perempuan memiliki sifat penggoda, lemah, emosional, dan tidak rasional; (4) kekerasan terhadap perempuan dalam bentuk fisik dan psikis; dan (5) beban kerja dialami oleh Putri dan Nyoman. Kedua, posisi subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu Joni dan Ketut Regig. Teks dalam novel menunjukkan kedua laki-laki tersebut menggunakan kekuasaannya sebagai laki-laki kepada objek yakni Putri dan Made Sunari. Pembaca diposisikan dengan melihat permasalahan dari sudut pandang subjek, sedangkan kata ganti orang pertama “aku” menuntun pembaca menjadi subjek. Pembaca seolah-olah akan merasa dirinya menjadi subjek, dan tujuan subjek di dalam novel tersebut adalah mengajak pembaca untuk ikut masuk dalam wacana tersebut, seperti ikut melihat langsung apa yang terjadi pada objek. Peneliti menyarankan agar penulis teks, baik novel, berita, atau artikel agar selalu memperhatikan kesetaraan gender, khususnya perempuan.

This study uses descriptive qualitative design aimed to describe construction feminism and representation of the subject-object position and the position is shown in the novel Putri by Putu Wijaya based on Sara Mills critical discourse analysis. The subject is Putri novel and the object is construction feminism and representation of the subject-object position and the position has shown in the novel Putri. Through a critical analysis of the construction of feminism Putri novel, obtained the following results. First, construction of feminism that emerged is: (1) the marginalization of women represented in the form of pauperization by the prohibition study and work; (2) the subordination represented with the shape of men was free to pick and choose what they want; (3) the stereotypes indicate that women who has perventer characteristic, weak, emotional, and irrational; (4) the violence to the women in the form of physical and psychological; and (5) the work in overload experienced by Putri and Nyoman. Second, the position of the subjects in this study is Joni and Ketut Regig. Text in the novel shows the second man to use his power as a man to the object that is Putri and Made Sunari. The reader is positioned to look at the problem from the point of view of the subject, while the first-person pronoun "I" leads the reader into the subject. The reader will feel as if he became the subject, and the subject of the novel purpose is to invite the reader to go in the discourse, such as taking a direct view of what is happening on the object. Researcher suggest to the author text, among novels, news, or articles to always pay attention to gender equality, especially women.
