PENGARUH MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPA DAN SIKAP ILMIAH SISWA SMP
Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis perbedaan: 1) hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah antara siswa yang belajar dengan Model Discovery Learning dengan siswa yang belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Langsung, 2) hasil belajar antara siswa yang belajar dengan Model Discovery Learning dengan siswa yang belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Langsung, 3) sikap ilmiah antara siswa yang belajar dengan Model Discovery Learning dengan siswa yang belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Langsung.
Eksperimen semu ini dilakukan dengan pretest-posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Manggis tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang berjumlah 10 kelas dengan jumlah siswa 303 orang. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Sampel yang terpilih adalah Kelas VIII A sebagai kelompok eksperimen dengan perlakuan Model Discovery Learning, dan Kelas VIII B sebagai kelompok kontrol perlakuan Model Pembelajaran Langsung. Data hasil belajar siswa dikumpulkan dengan tes hasil belajar yang telah divalidasi, sedangkan data sikap ilmiah siswa dikumpulkan dengan kuisioner sikap ilmiah siswa yang sudah divalidasi. Data hasil belajar awal dan sikap ilmiah awal dikumpulkan sebelum eksperimen, dan data hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah dikumpulkan pada akhir perlakuan. Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan Uji MANCOVA yang dilanjutkan dengan Uji LSD. Uji signifikansi dilakukan pada taraf 5%.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah siswa yang belajar dengan Model Discovery Learning lebih baik dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah siswa yang belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Langsung, 2) hasil belajar siswa yang belajar dengan Model Discovery Learning lebih baik dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar siswa yang belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Langsung, dan 3) sikap ilmiah siswa yang belajar dengan Model Discovery Learning lebih baik dibandingkan dengan sikap ilmiah siswa yang belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Langsung.

The aim of the research was to describe and analysis the difference of: 1) students’ achievement and their scientific attitude between whom learned by Discovery Learning Model with student who learned by DI Learning Model, 2) learning achievement between student who learned by Discovery Learning Model with student who learned by DI Learning Model, 3) scientific attitude between student who learned by Discovery Learning Model with student who learned by DI Learning Model.
This quasi experiment was conduvted by pretest-post test only control design. Population of this research was 10 classes of 8th grade student of SMP Negeri 1 Manggis in the years 2015/2016 which consisted of 303 person. Sample of the research determined by simple random sampling technique towards already matched class. The sample that has been choosen was VIII A class as experiment group which was learned using Discovery Learning Model, and VIII B class as control group which was learned using DI Learning Model. Dependent variable that is analyzed is student’s learning achievement and scientific attitude. Student’s learning achievement data took by student’s learning achievement test that already been validated, meanwhile student’s scientific attitude data took by student’s scientific attitude questionaire that already been validated. The data of prior achivement and prior students’ attitude were collected befor intervention and the data of students’ achievement and their scientific attitude were coleccted after treatment. All of the data were analysed descriptively and MANCOVA test and continued by LSD test. To test the research hyphothesis, the 5% of significance different was used.
The research findings show that: 1) student’s learning achievement and student’s scientific attitude that learned by Discovery Learning Model was better than student’s learning achievement and student’s scientific attitude that learned by DI Learning Model, 2) student’s learning achievement that learned by Discovery Learning Model was better than student’s learning achievement that learned by DI Learning Model, and 3) student’s scientific attitude that learned by Discovery Learning Model was better than student’s scientific attitude that learned by DI Learning Model.
