PENERAPAN COMPUTER ASSISTED LANGUAGE LEARNING BERBANTUAN MEDIA VIDEO UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR BERBICARA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar berbicara siswa pada pelajaran bahasa Inggris serta mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan metode CALL berbantuan video. Penelitian ini diadakan karena berdasarkan observasi awal ditemukan bahwa hasil belajar siswa dalam berbicara sangat rendah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X^tkj SMK TI BALI GLOBAL Singaraja tahun 2013-2014 dengan keseluruhan subyek berjumlah 14 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan wawancara (speaking test), tugas-tugas dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode CALL berbantuan video dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar berbicara siswa pada pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Data yang dikumpulkan selama pelaksanaan pre test pada siklus I menunjukkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 48,56 dan hasil belajar pada post test yang dilakukan pada akhir siklus I menunjukkan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 73,21 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 50%. Pelaksanaan pre test pada siklus II menunjukan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 71,07 dan hasil post tes yang dilaksanakan pada akhir siklus II menunjukan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 86,07 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 100% dan tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan CALL berbantuan video berada pada kategori positif.

Abstract

This study aimed at improving the students’ speaking achievement and describing the responses of  students’ learning in english by the application of the method CALL with video. This study was conducted based on the preliminary observation that found out the students’ speaking achievement was categorized as low. The method used in this study was classroom action research. The study was consisted of two cycles I. Each of cycle was consisted of 4 steps, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were the students at X^tkj SMK TI BALI GLOBAL Singaraja in academic year 2013/2014 with the total subjects consisted of 14 students. The data were gathered by using worksheet, homework and interview. The data analyzed descriptively. The result showed that  implementation  the method of CALL with video could improve students’ speaking achievement. The data which were gathered during the implementation of pre test in cycle showed the students’ mean score 48,56 and The post test which was conducted in the end of cycle I showed the students’ mean score was 73,21 with classical completeness 50%. The implementation of pre test in cycle II showed the students’ mean score was 71,07 and the post test which was conducted in the end of cycle II showed the students’ mean score was 86,07 with the classical completeness 100% and student responses to the application of the method CALL with video On the positive category.
