PENGARUH PENERAPAN METODE SQ3R DAN TEKNIK KLOSE TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi penerapan metode dan teknik pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP SSN Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah metode SQ3R, teknik klose, dan pembelajaran konvensional sebagai variabel bebas, kemampuan membaca pemahaman sebagai variabel terikat. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian Experimental Research Design dengan desain factorial 3x2. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 120 orang siswa kelas VIII yang diambil diambil dari sekolah berbeda menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling yang menghasilkan 3 kelas untuk perlakuan yang berbeda yang ditentukan dengan cara diundi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANAVA tiga jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) ada perbedaan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa yang diajar dengan metode SQ3R, teknik Klose dan cara konvensional (Fhitung > Ftabel ( 21,06 > 3,11) dan p-value = 0,000 < 0,05); (2) ada perbedaan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa antara siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan (Fhitung > Ftabel ( 5,19 < 3,96) dan p-value = 0,025 < 0,05); dan (3) tidak ada interaksi antara penerapan metode SQ3R, teknik membaca klose dan cara konvensional dengan jenis kelamin terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa (Fhitung > Ftabel ( 0,02 < 2,33) dan p-value = 0,981 > 0,05). Disimpulkan bahwa metode SQ3R, teknik klose dan cara konvensional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri SSN Kabupaten Lombok Timur.

This research is aims at finding the interaction effect of instructional method and technique toward students reading comprehension. The research was conducted at SMP SSN Kabupaten Lombok Timur. The research variables were SQ3R method, close technique and conventional learning as independent variable, students’ reading comprehension as dependent variable. The research design used was experimental research design with 3x2 factorial design. The research sample were 120 students of eight grade which were taken from different school by using proportional random sampling technique which finally produce three sample classes that treated by using different treatment. Research instrument used to collect data was reading comprehension test. Data were analyzed using three-ways ANOVA. The research result shows that: 1) there is a different of students’ reading comprehension taught by using SQ3R method, close technique, and conventional learning (Fobs > Fcv ( 21,06 > 3,11) and p-value = 0,000 < 0,05); 2) there is a different of students’ reading comprehension between students’ male and female (Fobs > Fcv ( 5,19 < 3,96) and p-value = 0,025 < 0,05); and 3) there is no interaction between the implementation of SQ3R method, close technique and conventional learning with students’ reading comprehension (Fobs > Fcv ( 0,02 < 2,33) and p-value = 0,981 > 0,05). It can be concluded that SQ3R method, close technique and conventional learning have significant effect toward students’ reading comprehension for the eighth grade of SMP Negeri SSN Kabupaten Lombok Timur.
