PENGARUH MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPA DAN SIKAP ILMIAH SISWA SMP
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap pemahaman konsep IPA dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan eksperimen posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Tembuku tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 yang terdiri atas 5 kelas. Sampel diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda diperluas dan kuesioner sikap ilmiah. Data dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif dan uji MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut: (1) terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep IPA dan sikap ilmiah antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model discovery learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pengajaran langsung (F=7,791; p<0,05), (2) terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep IPA secara signifikan antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model discovery learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pengajaran langsung (F=7,774; p<0,05), dan (3) terdapat perbedaan sikap ilmiah secara signifikan antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model discovery learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pengajaran langsung (F=11,013; p<0,05).

This research aimed to investigate the effect of discovery learning model upon the understanding of science concept and scientific attitude of students . The type of this research is a quasi experimental with the experimental design posttest only control group design. The population was all of the firth class of SMP Negeri 3 Tembuku academic year 2013/2014 which consists of 5 classes. Samples were taken with a simple random sampling tecnique. The data in understanding of science concept was collected by multiple-choice tests extended and scientific attitude was collected by questionnaire. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis and MANOVA test. The results showed as follows: (1) there are differences of science concept and scientific attitude of students between the students that learned by using discovery learning model with the students that learned by using direct instruction model (F=7,791; p<0,05), (2) there is difference of science concept between the students that learned by using discovery learning model with the students that learned by using direct instruction model significantly (F=7,774; p<0,05), (3) there is difference of scientific attitude of students between the students that learned by using discovery learning model with the students that learned by using direct instruction model significantly (F=11,013; p<0,05).
