PENGARUH PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN SAINS-TEKNOLOGI-MASYARAKAT (STM) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH DAN SIKAP ILMIAH SISWA
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan sikap ilmiah siswa antara siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran Sains-Teknologi-Masyarakat dan siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut maka dilaksanakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Jumlah sampel 77 orang terdiri dari 2 kelas yang diambil dengan teknik random assignment. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan kuesioner sikap ilmiah siswa. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Manova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1). Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan sikap ilmiah siswa antara kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran Sains-Teknologi-Masyarakat dengan kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. 2). Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah antara siswa yang belajar dengan pendekatan pembelajaran STM dan siswa yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran langsung. 3). Terdapat perbedaan sikap ilmiah siswa antara siswa yang belajar dengan pendekatan pembelajaran Sains-Teknologi-Masyarakat dan siswa yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran langsung.

The purpose of this study was to know the difference of students’ ability on problem solving and science attitude between students who learned by using Science – Technology – Society Approach and who learned by using Direct Instruction. This study was Quasi Experiment with pre-test–post-test nonequivalent control group design. The sample of this study was two classes consisting of 77 students choosen through random assignment. The data was collected though conducting problem solving skill test and students’ science skill questioner. The data was analyzed by using Multivariate Analysis of Variance then continued by Least Significant Difference test on the significant level α = 0,005. The result of the study were (1) there was the difference between students who learned by using Science – Technology – Society Approach and who learned by using Direct Instruction; (2) there was significant difference on students’ problem solving ability between students taught by using Science – Technology – Society Approach and those taught by using Direct Instruction; (3) there was significant difference on students’ science attitude between students taught by using Science – Technology – Society Approach and those taught by using Direct Instruction.
