PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN SAINS TEKNOLOGI MASYARAKAT (STM) TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP DAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS PADA SISWA SMP NEGERI 2 PUPUAN
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan perbedaan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran STM dan siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan The Posttest Only Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Pupuan tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 yang berjumlah 125 siswa. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 99 siswa yang diambil dengan teknik random kelas. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses. Data dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif dan analisis MANOVA satu jalur, dengan taraf signifikansi 5%, dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep dan proses keterampilan proses yang signifikan antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran STM dan model pembelajaran langsung (F=11,578; p<0,05), (2) terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep yang signifikan antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran STM dan model pembelajaran langsung (F=12,506; p<0,05), dan (3) terdapat perbedaan keterampilan proses yang signifikan antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran STM dan model pembelajaran langsung (F=20,121; p<0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat direkomendasikan bahwa model pembelajaran STM dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains.

This research aims were to describe the differences of students’ conceptual understanding and skill science process between the group of students who were taught using science-technology-society model and those taught using direct-instruction model, This research was quasi experimental with the posttest only control group design. The population of this research the was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pupuan on 2012/2013 academic year which consisted of 125 students. The sample consisted of 99 students by using cluster random sampling technique. The data in this study were conceptual understanding and skill science process. The data were analyzed descriptively and then analyzed by using one-way MANOVA and LSD test. The result of this study showed that: (1) there were significant difference of students’ conceptual understanding, process skill between the students taught using science-technology-society model and those who were taught using direct learning (F=11.578; p<0,05), (2) there were significant difference of students’ conceptual understanding between the students taught using science-technology-society model and those who were taught using direct learning (F=12,506; p<0,05), and (3) there were significant difference of students’ process skill between the students who were taught using science-technology-society model and those who were taught using direct learning (F=20,121; p<0,05). Based on the result, it is recommended that science-technology-society model can be used as an alternative learning model to improve students’ conceptual understanding and skill science process.
